Paradox Mountain
Welcome to the Paradox Mountain website.

Here you will find links to all that the many ways that the
Lord has blessed us.
Paradox is an interesting word, don't you think?  Webster's 1828
dictionary says that a paradox is a "proposition contrary to received
opinion, or [a] seemingly absurd, yet true fact."

We call our Colorado homestead Paradox Mountain because,
paradoxically, we see the mountains to the north and don't think of
ourselves as being that high up.  However, our home is at 6,800
feet above sea level and so being more than a mile up, our home
might be called on a mountain, fitting the definition above as a
"proposition contrary to received opinion."

The Bible speaks of a paradox too.  In 1 Corinthians 1:20-21 (NIV) it
says:  "Where is the wise man?  Where is the scholar?  Where is the
philosopher of this age?  Has not God made foolish the wisdom of
the world?  For since in the wisdom of God the world through its
wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the
foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe."

Many have a tendency to believe that with enough time, effort and
resources they can accomplish anything.  The truth is, apart from
God we can accomplish nothing.  Our wisdom is but foolishness if it
is not His wisdom.  We have all sinned and fallen short, with no
ability to save ourselves.  (Romans 3:23 and 6:23)  But God in His
infinite mercy provided us a way through Jesus Christ. (John 14:6)
The question is what will we choose?  Life or death?  We must turn
from our sinful ways and give our life over to Him who loved us
enough to provide a way of salvation.  (Romans 10:9-10)

If you haven't given your life over to Him who died for you, please
do it now. Just pray and confess that you are a sinner, unable to
make it on your own and tell Him that you want Him to be Lord of
your life, and He will.  Now that's truly good news!

If you have given your life over or if you are unsure of what the
next step is, please contact us and we'll be glad to share with you
His awesome ways!
